Courage to Soar

The Courage to Soar program is one of three employment programs at Minwaashin. It is a specialized, smaller class size program, allowing for direct support. It runs September to March, annually in partnership with Algonquin College.

Graduates will build their confidence, learn administrative and employment based skills, and earn a certificate from Algonquin College.

The Courage to Soar program is for
 

  •  First Nation, Inuit, or Métis woman

  • over 18 years of age

  • at risk of or ever experienced domestic violence

  • seeking to build economic security and confidence

  • have some basic computer skills and have taken the Employment Readiness program

  • can commit to a 7 month school program (including in-person lessons, workshops, guest lectures, as well as school work to be completed independently).
